I would like to share my experience with DAPH regarding their service process. One of the main issues is the lack of responsiveness to emails. It is very difficult to get in touch with the relevant officers, which causes unnecessary delays and inconvenience. Additionally, while most of the procedures can be completed online through Google Forms, the payment process is not user-friendly at all. There is no option to make payments online or through a simple digital method. Instead, we are required to physically visit the office just to complete the payment. This is time-consuming and inefficient, especially when all other steps are handled digitally.

I only had to provide a rabies certificate to take my pet cat from Sri Lanka to Canada and look at all the things I have to fulfill to bring the same cat back to Sri Lanka. It’s going to cost more than $1000 get these done as it require multiple vet visits. Why such rigorous requirements when dogs and cats in Sri Lankan streets aren’t even vaccinated for rabies? Who is giving them Endo parasites & Ecto parasites treatments and checking for infectious & contagious diseases? What kind of a contagious disease other than rabies my cat can bring to Sri Lanka? Isn't rabies vaccine enough like for US and Canada? That's the only thing public is concerned about from a foreign pet. Not whether they are dewormed or not. Why impose more requirements than US and Canada to bring pets into Sri Lanka? Take into account status of the country before asking crazy over the top requirements like these. I'm not trying to bring an exotic animal from an African jungle to do all these. Just a cat I took from Sri Lanka. Just be reasonable. Put yourself in our shoes before making these arbitrary requirements. Heartworm (Dirofilaria immitis) Tests - A negative result is required from BOTH the Knott’s test and ELISA, IFAT or PCR test. Why both? Isn't one test enough? Is Sri Lanka Heartworm negative country to add this requirement? Microchip certificate - Why? Not even Government Veterinary offices have Microchip scanners or 99.99% of Sri Lankan vets. Why do have to chip my pet just to bring it to Sri Lanka? Tricat Vaccine Primary Vaccination & Booster. Why ask a vaccine that is not even provided by local Government Veterinary offices? No clinical signs of any infectious & Contagious Disease Endo parasites & Ecto parasites treatments. My cat dont have ticks. Why do have to put poison on my cat just to bring to Sri Lanka? International Veterinary Health Certificate. This is very expensive. It cost about $500 just to get one. Its nothing but a paper with a government seal that says pet is vaccinated. Why cant you rely on the vaccination book?

I requested an import permit to bring a cat from Malaysia to Sri Lanka. They provided it to me very quickly. I bow my head to your efforts. Thank you all.

I have been trying to get a permit for my pet cat for more than a month. Extremely disappointed about how irresponsible they are. They keep asking different things every week. I have spent alot and yet no support. There is no proper system or process and I am in the verge of giving up.
